description: These data were created as part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management's efforts to create an online mapping viewer depicting potential lake levels for the United States Great Lakes. The purpose of the mapping viewer is to provide coastal managers and scientists with a preliminary look at potential impacts. The viewer is a screening-level tool that uses nationally consistent data sets and analyses. Data and maps provided can be used at several scales to help gauge trends and prioritize actions for different scenarios. "SOVI" data depict the social vulnerability of census tracts to environmental hazards and is based on the Social Vulnerability Index (SoVI). Input data are from the 2010 Decennial Census and the 5-year American Community Survey, 2006-2010. For more information visit http://webra.cas.sc.edu/hvri/products/sovi.aspx.
