Developing Final Designs to Mitigate Sea Level Rise and Wetland Loss for Louisiana’s Coastal Tribes

Grant Amount: $885,587 Matching Funds: $59,200

This award will improve tribes’ subsistence-based living and wildlife resilience while protecting culturally important sacred mounds to address increased flood risk and wind damage from recent storms. The project will partner with the First Peoples Conservation Council of Louisiana and other coastal communities to finalize designs for restoring wetlands, preserving historical sites, and backfilling canals in strategic locations.
